Preferred Start Date: July 1, 2025 or sooner

Position Summary:

Progressive Turnout Project seeks a mission-driven Digital Organizing Manager to rally Democrats to vote by engaging and mobilizing supporters, moving them from online interest to offline action. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who cares deeply about increasing voter turnout through innovative digital outreach.

Reporting to the President, the Digital Organizing Manager will serve as a key player in the development and implementation of digital engagement efforts across Progressive Turnout Project and its affiliated entities and initiatives–including Progressive Takeover, Stop Republicans, STOP TRUMP, democracyFIRST, and Postcards to Swing States.

In addition to supporting digital engagement across PTP’s programs, the Digital Organizing Manager will lead the strategic growth and campaign execution of Shape Up the Vote, managing the program’s budget, developing outreach strategies, and exploring new outreach verticals.

This is a remote position based in the United States. The Digital Organizing Manager must structure their workday to overlap with Progressive Turnout Project’s core hours: Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

There are no formal education requirements for this position. A background in government or politics is not required, but you must be willing to learn new things and stay curious. People of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

This position is eligible for benefits, including employer-sponsored health, dental, and vision insurance, FSA, 401(k), paid time off, and paid holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Digital Organizing Across Voter Contact Programs

    • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement digital engagement strategies that support key programs, including Distributed Organizing, Campaign Fellows, Postcards to Swing States, democracyFIRST, and more
    • Amplify program initiatives through online content, supporter emails, and social media posts
  • Lead Shape Up the Vote Implementation

    • Manage the SUTV campaign budget and coordinate timelines for print, mail, phone, and text outreach
    • Oversee the production of printed materials, including content and design coordination
    • Maintain accurate records in our CRM of barber/stylist participants and their engagement levels
    • Recruit participants using outreach tools such as phone calls and text messages
    • Provide participants with updates and reminders about key election dates and campaign logistics
    • Support campaign fellows and volunteers working on SUTV and lead community-building activities such as webinars, video calls, and SMS engagement
    • Track participant engagement and identify opportunities for deeper involvement
  • Develop and Manage Digital Content

    • Draft monthly digital content plans for PTP and affiliated entities, ensuring messaging is timely, accessible, and consistent
    • Craft and review emails for supporters, donors, and alumni—including content related to volunteering and campaign updates
    • Manage content across owned digital platforms such as websites, email marketing tools, and social media channels
    • Grow and engage online audiences, using EveryAction, Mobilize, and other platforms
  • Engage with Supporters and Maintain Data

    • Monitor email and social media inboxes to respond to questions, feedback, and supporter inquiries with care and accuracy
    • Assist with data cleanup for supporter, donor, volunteer, and alumni records—especially during slower program periods
    • Actively participate, engage in, and support efforts to reach stakeholders through other mediums (e.g. mail) as needed

The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.

Qualifications (You will be a good fit if):

  • You have at least two election cycles or 1–2 years of organizing or outreach experience—whether on political campaigns, in digital communications, or in a customer service or engagement role
  • You are deeply committed to electing Democrats up and down the ballot and energized by work that helps increase voter turnout
  • You are a strong communicator, with experience writing emails, social posts, or other outreach that connects with diverse audiences
  • You have exceptional organizational skills and an eye for detail—you can juggle tasks without letting anything fall through the cracks
  • You are comfortable using customer relationship databases and tools like Mobilize, EveryAction, or similar platforms
  • You are an empathetic and efficient communicator who can field supporter inquiries with kindness, clarity, and confidence
  • You are curious and resourceful, whether that means researching voter laws, tracking down data, or exploring new tactics
  • You are skilled at working independently and managing your own workflow, while staying in close coordination with your team
  • You have experience using Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive)

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

  • Experience with graphic design, video editing, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects, Audition)
  • Experience producing a variety of digital content—including explainer videos, animated posts, social share graphics, one-pagers, and presentations
  • Familiarity with digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics or social media back-end data to evaluate performance and inform strategy
  • Experience managing or updating websites (e.g., WordPress), including troubleshooting, optimizing, and user testing

  • Background in email or social media content performance analysis
  • Experience managing budgets is a plus
  • Experience launching or expanding new organizing programs or verticals is a plus
